E-E-A-T
E-E-A-T is a quality framework defined in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines — Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness — particularly important for YMYL (Your Money Your Life) topics.
E-E-A-T (originally E-A-T, "Experience" added in 2022) is a core framework in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines used to assess content trustworthiness:
- Experience — does the author have direct experience with the topic?
- Expertise — is the author an expert in the field?
- Authoritativeness — is the author/site a known authority?
- Trustworthiness — is the content accurate, sourced, well-edited, with contact info?
Practical signals: author profiles (Person schema, sameAs LinkedIn/X), author bio on every article, visible site contact and company info, external mentions and links, content accuracy and freshness. LLMs (Perplexity, Claude, ChatGPT) weight these same signals when picking sources.
